In short: this website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking, loads nothing from other companies' servers and has no forms. The only personal data involved are the technical data any web server needs to deliver a page, and the contents of emails you choose to send us.

Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus, on the basis of a data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR. When you open a page, your browser sends technical information that the server records automatically in log files: IP address, date and time of the request, the page or file requested, the amount of data transferred, the referring page, and browser and operating system.
These data are needed to deliver the website, to keep it secure and stable and to defend against attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure, working website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). We do not combine log data with other data and do not use them to identify visitors; they are deleted by the host after a short period unless needed to investigate a security incident.
No cookies, no tracking, no third-party content
We do not use cookies, web analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, social media plugins or embedded third-party content. Fonts are served from our own server, so no data are sent to font providers. The maps, charts and download images are generated in advance and delivered from our own server.
Links to other websites
Our pages link to the publishers of our sources and, in the Berlin Experiences network banner, to other Berlin Experiences websites. Nothing is transmitted to those websites unless you click a link; after that, their own privacy notices apply.
Contacting us by email
If you write to us (for example to info@germanydivided.com or press@germanydivided.com), we process your email address, your name and the content of your message to answer your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to a contract or pre-contractual measures, and otherwise our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Our mailboxes are also hosted by Hostinger. We delete correspondence when it is no longer needed, unless statutory retention periods apply.
Your rights
You have the right to access your personal data (Art. 15 GDPR), to rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20), and to object at any time to processing based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (Art. 21). To exercise these rights, write to info@germanydivided.com.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit).
